Sooners Offer Unique Athlete
Through the years some of Oklahoma's biggest success stories in the recruiting game have come from players who starred in high school at one position and found college success elsewhere. In the case of one of Oklahoma's most recent offers for the class of 2012, Daniel Brooks, it is far from set in stone where he'll be playing in college but the thought is that after days at running back in high school he could be starring at corner in college.
Late last week Brooks was offered by Oklahomas as a 'running back/athlete' as he termed it.
Much like another former Austin area star, Derrick Strait, Brooks has made a name for himself carrying the ball but projects at several positions for the Sooners. But like past Sooner targets Darius Jones and Brandon Carter if Oklahoma does want to pursue him on the defensive side of the ball they'll have a battle to do so.
"They've talked about using me some as a return guy, running back, a slot guy, and they are looking for me on defense, coach (Brent) Venables says would love to see me at defensive back. I'm going to find my place," Brook said.
