Catching up with Nathan Sowels on the phone is about as tough as catching up with him on the football field or the running track. The speedy athlete from Dallas (Tex.) Pinkston has managed to stay a couple of steps ahead of the recruiting coverage - until now. Here's the first Rivals.com update on the multi-talented, multi-sport Sowels, who has a number of Division I-A football scholarship offers.

Sowels is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound do everything sort for Pinkston. In addition to being a key member of the football team, he's one of the best trackmen in all of Class 4A in Texas.

Sowels listed offers from Iowa State, Arizona, TCU, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor and Texas A&M. A couple have emerged as the leaders: A&M and Arizona.
