Scouting Reports

The Good: Has a rare first step with excellent short-area quickness. Gets up to top speed instantly and is a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball. Possesses good body control and breaks in and out of his routes cleanly. Is a natural start-and-stop athlete with an ability to consistently make a defender miss. A big-time threat after the catch.
The Bad: A developing wide receiver who lined up all over the offense while at Florida and isn't real polished as a route runner yet. Isn't sharp out of his breaks; still has trouble beating press coverage at the line.

Positives: Very gifted natural athlete with well-defined musculature. Excellent burst and instant acceleration. Very, very elusive in the open field and can take the corner with ease. Superb balance to rip through arm tackles and spin out of clutter. Follows his blocks and shows great anticipatory vision. Very, very competitive. Works hard and takes the game seriously. Has soft hands.
Negatives: Did not play in a pro-style offense and has never been asked to run a full route tree. Not a strong tackle-breaker and can be caught from behind (see Arkansas). Does not show elite traffic burst to accelerate once he is moving and plateaus after 20 yards. Has a supreme sense of entitlement and does not take hard coaching well. Questionable character. Comes from the 757 Virginia Beach area code that produced Lawrence Taylor, Michael Vick and DeAngelo Hall, and trouble has followed him. Durability could be an issue - has been sidelined throughout career with neck, hamstring and ankle injuries. Has minimal return experience.
Summary: A dynamic multi-purpose back and slot receiver with the burst and acceleration to create big plays anywhere on the field, even as a returner despite not having contributed in the return game in college. Versatility brings tremendous value, but character and durability issues will require closer scrutiny and could keep him from ever realizing his potential.
