Notes: Married to his high school sweetheart and has a daughter. Also ran track as a Texas prep, in addition to playing running back, receiver, cornerback and kick returner. As a true freshman in 2006 (wore jersey No. 30), saw his redshirt pulled for the final seven games when he carried 21 times for 76 yards (3.6-yard average) and zero touchdowns with 12 receptions for 218 yards (18.2) and a TD. Had his right knee scoped in May '07 and again in September. Managed 14-64-0 (4.6) rushing with 2-18-0 (9.0) receiving but ultimately redshirted in '07. Hurt his left shoulder during '08 spring practice and played hurt in the fall - played 11 games (two starts) and totaled 75-348-2 (4.6) on the ground with 15-199-0 (13.3) receiving. Also returned 10 kickoffs for 170 yards (17.0) before undergoing postseason surgery to repair a torn labrum. In '09, started all 12 games played despite having a torn left meniscus - set the UTEP single-season rushing record by toting 259-1,594-18 (6.2) with 30-453-3 (15.1) receiving. Was limited in final game against Marshall while nursing a strained MCL in the same knee and had arthroscopic surgery in December. Was limited by a left knee injury in '10 - missed four of the first five games and the Arkansas contest - and managed 81-335-1 (4.1) with 12-63-0 (5.2) receiving. Team captain.  Positives: Very good vision and elusiveness - has a slippery running style and is difficult to wrap. Can cut on a dime, change direction, dart through traffic and create his own hole. Good run balance - stays on his feet through contact and breaks arm tackles. Soft-handed, natural catcher - adjusts well to the ball. Smart, hardworking, tough competitor. Solid character and leadership traits.  Negatives: Is undersized, and durability is concerning - is always hurt and wore down after carrying a heavy workload as a junior. Not strong or powerful. Lacks the girth and strength to function as blocker. Very marginal weight-room strength. Limited return experience. Summary: Senior season was derailed by injuries and always could be an issue, but has the run skills and athletic talent to fill a specialty role as a change-of-pace back.
